Authorities in Long Beach are issuing a public warning following two robberies that were committed using BB guns earlier this week. The police department says they’ve seen an uptick in gun-related crimes over the past few weeks and is urging people to be vigilant of their surroundings while walking, driving, or riding bicycles around town.

BELMONT SHORE, CALIFORNIA (CBSLA) — Following a string of break-ins in Belmont Shore areas from November 1 to November 7, authorities from the Long Beach Police Department have issued a public warning.

At least six robberies are now being investigated by authorities.
According to a statement released by the Los Angeles Police Department, robberies are most common in the early morning hours. They often featured an unidentified number of individuals breaking into residences via unlocked doors and windows. The majority of the incidents included stolen merchandise and valuables, with one being a stolen automobile.
So far, there has been no confrontation or conflict between the suspects and the crimes’ victims, who have all reported stolen belongings and open doors or windows when they awoke.

Detectives are now looking into the details of each occurrence, including probable vehicle and suspect descriptions, as well as video footage.
To avoid more tragedies, the LBPD has boosted the number of patrols in the area.
They’re advising people to “lock their doors and windows” and to “see anything, say something” by contacting the LBPD’s non-emergency number at (562) 435-6711.
According to Allison Gallagher, Public Information Officer, the following instances have been reported:
- Officers were summoned to the 3900 block of E. 5th Street on 11/1/21 at around 6:13 a.m. for a burglary complaint.
- Officers responded to a house burglary incident in the 200 block of Park Avenue at around 10:10 a.m. on November 1, 2021.
- Officers responded to a home burglary incident in the 200 block of Park Avenue on 11/2/2021 at around 8:45 a.m.
- Officers were summoned to the 200 block of Quincy Avenue on November 5th at around 5:37 a.m. for a stolen vehicle complaint.
- Officers were summoned to the 5300 block of East 4th Street on November 7th at around 5:19 a.m. for a home burglary incident.
- Officers responded to a house burglary incident in the 300 block of Orlena Avenue at around 6:01 a.m. on November 7, 2021.
